Antonia Kuo is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans photography, film, sculpture, drawing, painting, and printmaking. Based in New York, she works through intensive processes that merge the photographic medium with alchemical, industrial, and natural systems. Her “photochemical paintings,” for example, combine light-sensitive paper and photochemistry, layering drawing, painting, and photographic materiality into singular works.
THAT Co. featured Kuo in 2022. Since then Kuo has exhibited extensively including a solo exhibition, “Milk of the Earth,” at Chapter NY in 2025, a two-person exhibition with Martin Wong at the Frye Art Museum in 2024, and internationally. Her work is now held in the permanent collections of major institutions including the Whitney Museum of American Art and Centre Pompidou.
