Artist Info

Bhasha Chakrabarti is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is grounded in textiles, fabric, and the body. Her work explores how cloth “simultaneously covers and reveals,” investigating the intimate relationship between fabric, subjectivity, and labor. She earned her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from the Yale School of Art in 2022 and has been named a semifinalist for the Smithsonian Outwin-Boochever Prize (2022), a Beinecke Fellow (2021), and recipient of the 2023 South Asia Artist Prize.

THAT Co. featured Chakrabarti in 2023. Since then she continues to exhibit in the US and internationally including presentations at Art Basel, Art Dubai, Experimenter Kolkata and RISD Museum.
