Artist Info

Dominique Fung is a Canadian artist of Hong Kong and Shanghai ancestry based in Brooklyn, New York. Her practice centers on richly painted works and sculptural forms that probe the intersections of memory, heritage, artifact, and identity. She unpacks the ways ancestral narratives, colonial histories, and diaspora shape the representation and objectification of Asian women and forms, often blending lavish color, historical motifs, and surreal figuration.

Fung has achieved major recognition through high-profile exhibitions including an installation at Rockefeller Center in New York, Pond Society Shanghai, and a performance commission at the High Line. Her work is held in prominent institutional collections including M+, K11 Art Foundation, Cantor Art Center, LACMA, and the Hammer Museum. THAT Co. featured Fung in 2021.
