Erica Mao is a painter and sculptor based in New York City. She earned her BFA from Parsons School of Design (2016) and MFA from Columbia University (2020). Her work consists of richly layered, atmospheric paintings and sculptural ceramic pieces that merge imagined landscapes with architectural and natural forms, creating alternate realities in which protagonists wander, seek shelter, or confront liminal spaces.
THAT Co. featured Mao in 2022. Since then, she has exhibited work in the US and internaionally including at Rachel Uffner Gallery in New York, Unit London Gallery, Blanc Gallery Manilla and Sea View Los Angeles.
