Jeffrey Meris is a multidisciplinary artist working across sculpture, installation, drawing, and performance. His practice engages with ecology, embodiment, and lived experience, considering material reuse, migration, and how bodies and systems relate. His series “I, Used To Be” (2020–21), for example, uses roofing paper and plaster particles to conjure residual presence and transformation.
Meris has exhibited extensively at venues including Prospect New Orleans, the Shed, Matthew Brown Gallery, White Columns, and François Ghebaly. He has received residencies and honors including the Studio Museum in Harlem residency, Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program, Jerome Hill Artists Fellowship, Cultured Young Artist List, and Socrates Sculpture Park Van Lier Fellowship.
