Yesiyu Zhao is a New York-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and sculpture. His work explores how cultural hybridity, memory, and fantasy intersect within the construction of identity. His compositions merge surreal figuration with symbolic motifs drawn from Chinese folklore, sci-fi narratives, and digital aesthetics—rendering psychological spaces where displacement and belonging coexist.
Zhao has exhibited widely in the U.S. and internationally including the Page Gallery, Seoul; Hive Center for Contemporary Art, Shanghai; Make Room, Los Angeles; Harper’s Gallery, New York; and David Castillo Gallery, Miami. THAT Co. featured Zhao in 2021.
