Starting in 2022, THAT Co. is launching a studio grant that will provide artists the opportunity to create work in a private studio located in Brooklyn, NY for a 3 or 6-month period.

What are the important dates?
Submissions open: March 1, 2022

What can I expect in the studio?
THAT Studio is a beautiful 600 sq ft. space located in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, NY. Selected artists will be the sole artist in residence and have 24/7 access for the duration of the studio grant. Basic furnishings, air conditioning, heat, and internet will be provided. The artist will be responsible for art materials and specialized equipment.
What is expected of me?
The selected artist will be expected to host studio visits with THAT Co. sponsors and give a virtual studio visit on THAT IG platform (to be coordinated with THAT Co. team). Artist is also expected to follow the rules of the building and be a good steward of the space. As the program is meant to be a gift of time, there is no expectation of finished work at the end of it, you are free to use it as you choose.
What is not included in the grant?
Accommodations, visa sponsorship, cost of living, art materials, transportation, or other stipends are NOT included.
What will I need to apply?
Resume/CV in PDF, an artist statement in 500 words or less in PDF, work samples PDF with 10 images of recent work with captions and/or links to videos.

Is the studio live/work?
No. The studio space is strictly for work. The selected artist is expected to have their own accommodation and be able to commute.
